How to find Free Wifi

by Jun Loayza on October 9, 2008

I will be honest with you.  Free wifi is like the gold at the end of a rainbow.  You constantly search for it, only to be disappointed by Starbucks and Coffee Bean.  I mean come on!  They’re big enough companies; they can afford to give us free wifi!  So when you do finally find that dependable free wifi, it’s like winning the lottery.  Well, at least for us entrepreneurs and bloggers.

Enter HotSpotr!  I have been looking for this all my life!  They provide a google map type of search where you can locate all of the wifi spots in your area.  Just type in your city or zip code, and it will instantly show you the areas near you with wifi.  It can’t get any simpler than that.

The data is user-generated, much like Yelp.  People can write comments about a wifi location and rate it as well.  It’s not the most visually appealing site in the world, but it gets the job done.

Now go out there and find your pot of gold!

Wow that’s pretty cool! I need to bookmark that site. What’s up with the word “Beaners” at the top? Is that the name of the place?

I think I should have gotten a different screenshot. I didn’t take that screenshot, I just took it from somewhere else. Maybe I should get another one, huh?
