Outsourcing my life

My life has just changed.
I watched a 50 minute video clip and read a 900 word article and my life has changed.
Outsource your life.
My personality is focused, determined, and extremely hard working. I’m one of those people who say, “If I don’t do it, it’s never going to be done right.” I check my email and Twitter ever 10 seconds and take my laptop with me to the bathroom to maintain productivity. When I’m at Disneyland with Kim, I whip out my iPhone to send out emails and skim through my Google Reader for good posts.
Don’t find ways to work harder; find ways to work easier
Even with all of my “productivity,” I never seemed to be able to get all the things done on my to-do list. It just keeps piling up and up each day without an end in site.
My mood, relationship, and friendships are suffering.
And then Tim’s words slapped me right in my face. I woke up; I realized that putting in more and more hours in a day is not the answer. Working harder and harder until you sweat ink is NOT the answer. I need to find a way to work easier, to put in less effort and get more in return.
Easier said than done
My goal is now to outsource my life. I look at Tim Ferris and he is a very accomplished individual. He was able to outsource his life to India because he already had a stable income and is able to afford such perks.
I’m an entrepreneur. I’m dead broke.
I feel that I’m in the same position as most of you. You probably have more money than I do, but we both can’t afford to pay India to outsource our work or personal errands - even though it’s cheap as hell.
[Keep in mind, I'm writing this post before I actually read The 4 Hour Work Week. I'm buying the book tomorrow and will digest it in two days flat.]
So what are our options?
Money is not the only form of payment
I am now on a mission, a mission to shock the way we view paying for services.
My goal is to outsource a part of my work life without spending a single cent.
Here is the setup:
- I will not be allowed to pay my “outsource team” any money to work for me
- My “outsource team” cannot be residing outside of the country
- I have until January 31 to completely outsource my List
The List - This is the list of tasks that I must get outsourced by January 31, 2009
- Upload and optimize FDTV and Startup Life episodes
- Upload to Vimeo, Viddler, Facebook, and YouTube
- Optimize title, description, tags, and links
- Share videos with the online community
- Find bloggers, vloggers, and tweeples who would find our video content interesting
- Follow and subscribe to this person
- Send me a list of new people that we are following and have shared our video with
- Listen to my Twitter stream and pick out the information that would be most interesting to me.
- Write a complete daily report about what’s been happening in my Tweet circle
- Filter out and provide me with only the content that I want
- Find me new and interesting people that I may like to follow
- Digest my Google Reader and pick out stories that I must absolutely read
- Summarize important and interesting articles
- Organize blogs posts into categories
I have 2 months to accomplish my goal. Think I can do it? I’ll keep you posted.

Everyone I know who has read the 4-hour workweek thinks it’s the greatest book ever. Good luck, I’m sure you can do it!

Interesting post. I have been outsourcing work-related tasks for a while now for my business but I can’t believe the things you can outsource these days. Just last week I read a TechCrunch article about VirtualDatingAssistants.com, a company that lets you outsource your online dating. Unbelievable…
